In 2010, out of the blue came an invitation to participate in the first Serbian Printmaking Triennial. I rarely pass up an opportunity to show work and I fully intended to do so. On this occasion I sent two prints and was accepted for showing. The final show represented artists from across the world and must have been a mammoth task for the organisers. Sadly, I could not take up an invitation to visit and work on a residency in the country, but did manage to make a piece for the 2nd Triennial in 2013.

I find it hard not to repay “creative” kindness without reciprocation and together with Amanda Roderick, then Director of Mission Gallery, we managed to encourage an exhibition of young printmakers from Serbia on screen at the gallery.
